Putting music from LimeWire onto an iPod is quite simple. You must have a media player application on your computer and the iPod's USB sync cable. The music from LimeWire must be formatted correctly. IPod will support any music in MP3 file format, the most common format for digital audio playback. To connect the iPod to the computer, you'll need the device's USB sync cable. Plug the USB sync cable into the iPod's adapter port at the bottom of the device. Plug the other end of the USB sync cable to the computer's USB 2.0 port. Once the device is connected, it will be visible in any media player application on your computer. Before you can copy anything to the iPod, you must move all of the LimeWire music files to your media player application. When the media player application opens, click on the "File" tab on the navigation menu at the top of the application, and select "Import" from the menu. Attach all of the folders where you have music stored on the computer so it can be available for playback and copying in the media player. The library will display all of the newly imported music files. Directions may vary for copying music, depending on the media player application you are using. First, we'll discuss copying music in iTunes. Open the iTunes media application. When iTunes opens, click on the "Devices" tab, and select "iPod" in the left pane of the application. Click on the "Sync Music" tab option in the navigation menu across the top of the application. There will be two radio button options below the tab. You can opt to copy the entire library to the iPod, or select specific songs or a playlist. Click on the radio button for the option that fits your preference. If you opt to copy specific files, highlight the music files and drag them to the iPod icon under the Devices tab on the left side of the screen. Open Windows Media Player. The iPod icon and full model name and number will already be listed in the menu along the left side of the screen. Click on the "Sync" tab in the menu across the top of the application screen. A sync pane will appear on the right side of the screen. This is the area where you will drag and drop the music files you want to sync to the iPod. Choose the music files you want to copy to your iPod by highlighting each music file individually to create a list for dragging and dropping. Hold down the CTRL key, and click on each file you want. As you click, each file will be highlighted. Drag and drop the list of highlighted music files to the Sync pane on the right, and click "Start Sync" at the bottom of the list. Windows Media Player will begin copying the media files to your iPod. Once the process is complete, the red progress monitor at the bottom of the Windows Media Player screen will read 100 percent.Set up the iPod Connection to the Computer
