In the ever-growing world of technology, sometimes it is easier said than done to buy something new, especially where music is concerned. Choosing an iPod is fun, and once purchased, will bring endless joy to your ears. So how do you get there? How do you buy an iPod? Before determining where to purchase an iPod, it is important to know that there are four types of iPods, ranging from 2GB of memory, or 500 songs, to 160 GB of memory, or 40,000 songs or 200 hours of video. They also come in 10 colors, depending on the model. Once you decide how much space you need, whether you need video capability and what color you like, the choices can be narrowed down rather easily. Authorized iPod retailers are available online, in stores and around the globe. Check with your a local retailer for availability or order online directly from Apple.com (see Resources) or from a licensed retailer. You can also check out eBay.com and Craigslist.com for used iPods. Before deciding to buy an iPod, you should know that it will only add songs, update applications and sync through the Apple software, iTunes. Be sure your computer has enough memory to accommodate the software and the songs you will be housing on the hard drive. This space varies by computer, so consult Apple.com for questions regarding space. It is also important to know that CDs will have to be ripped to iTunes, and only iTunes, to sync to the iPod. If you have existing music on your computer, it will need to be transferred to iTunes before being added to your iPod.Decide Which One Suits You
