Help answer this question below.
If you recently received a speeding ticket, you may have been given the option to take a defensive driving course in order for the ticket not to go on your record. Or perhaps your friend mentioned that her insurance agent gave her a reduced rate on auto insurance for having taken an online course. These courses are designed to increase your driving skills and knowledge of automobile safety. Defensive driving courses are taken by drivers looking to reduce their insurance premiums, remove or lower "points" on their licenses as a result of tickets and other penalties or simply to improve their driving experience. Defensive driving course providers should be approved by the Department of Motor Vehicles in your state. Check with your insurance provider to see if they offer credits or discounts to drivers completing an approved defensive driving program. Some courses are offered online; check with your local DMV or insurance provider to see if these courses are approved. Course length varies depending on the course and the format it is offered in. Most states have a minimum course hour requirement.Function
