Children will have to be able to use computers to complete school assignments at some point in their academic careers. Children will also benefit from having more technological literacy when they begin work in adulthood.

Reading is necessary to navigate the Internet, and the Internet is also loaded with articles, comments and other text that help children improve their reading skills.
Fun
Computers can be fun for kids. Computers offer innumerable fun and positive programs designed specifically for kids that are also educational.
Developmental Gains
According to the Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory, children who use computers have better social, language and cognition development than children who do not use computers.
