Help answer this question below.

I have a can of pinto beans. Am I supposed to drain them or leave the juice like a can of baked beans?

    depends on what you are going to do with them ... if you are adding them into something else, drain them ... if you are cooking them by themselves, then cook them in the juice

    I always drain AND rinse them as I don't like the taste of that slimy gooey stuff. I want as close to freshly cooked beans as possible. Plus it gets off the extra salt in that stuff and I can then salt as I choose to. I've run into a few recipes that use the juice but most recipes turn out better without it.

    It depends on what you are using them for. I drain and rinse them always because to me, the liquid adds a flavor that just shouldn't be there. Baked bean juice has additional flavors added that complement the bean.
