Help answer this question below.

Why does my DVD burner only work part of the time? My computer won't even recognize it until it has been on for an hour or so and then it seems to be fine. The burner will open and close, and seems to be working, but the computer still says it's not there

    It reminds me of my old short-circuited tape cassette player.

    What you do is, take it out, smash it and throw it outside the window. Then buy yourself a new modern one.
