Other than play money? Yes, I've had one and it was quite a surprise to me. I was using it to pay something and they said to wait a minute and they called the manager and the police came to take a look. I had to explain where I got it from as they knew it wasn't mine....thankfully!
yeah a 50$ bill, and managed to get rid of in a bulk money transaction.
Yup, but I knew it was fake. 3 dollar bill.

yeah - i have been questioned by the Secret Service - we didnt know it was fake
Yes, I did and I didn't know it was counterfeit until my bank called me the next day when checking my deposit. I knew exactly who gave it to me and he knew he had just gotten it from a different bank. We could see the 'test' lines on it; I think a teller got it in, forgot to check it and when she did, passed it onto the next person so she wouldn't lose her job! I now have one of those pens that my employees have to use on all large bills.
Yes, I have.
It felt odd when it was first handed to me. When I looked at it it had no sheen. Looking a little closer I realized the you could very faintly still see the markings of a five dollar bill.
I took the bill, gave the man his change and called the police. My partner got the plate number from his car as he left.
The five had been bleached and reprinted to look like a fifty.
It has a picture of George Bush Jr. with a finger up his nose on it.
I have it framed above my desk right now as a matter of fact.
I was given two $5 bills to buy bus tickets. I was told one of them could not be accepted because it is considered counterfeit money. I only found that out because two cashiers said so! The person who gave it to me had no idea until after that as well. She told me she thinks she got it from some cashier at Dollarama.
Have you ever been caught with a bill you did not even know was a counterfeit bill?

Unfortunately, the financial responsibility for counterfeit bills lies solely with the person or organization that possesses it. In other words, it doesn't matter where you got it from or how legitimate the transaction, you cannot be re-embursed for the counterfeit bill.
.
So, if you accepted it as part of your change at a grocery store, for example...and later discovered that you had received a counterfeit $20 bill...you're out twenty bucks!
.
The only way around this is for you to catch the fact that it's counterfeit and refuse to accept it.
.
Makes it a real potential bummer.

Yeah...it's literally money lost out of your own pocket! And you have no choice in the matter, either!
