Online dating requires single/seperated/divorced/widow - seperated or divorced is a terrible first impression, putting "single" feels true to yourself, but would seem later like you tried to hide the fact. What are your thoughts?

    I disagree - if you are trying online dating the chances are that you are not a teenager any more and don't go out to meet people that often. If you are more mature it is likely that you will have been in a relationship before, the fact that you are single again may not be your fault - you may have divorced a cheating or abusive partner, you may have separated from a drug addict or alcoholic, if you are widowed you may have murdered your partner, you may be single because you are difficult to get along with......single, separated, divorced, widowed the end result is the same - you are single and ready to date again.
