Its not his fault. Matsui is what they call a designated hitter and unfortunately the stupid rules of the national league don't recognize designated hitters therefore he was not allowed to play in games 3 - 5 on philadelphia a national league park. If it wasn't for that dumb rule the Yankees probably would have wrapped it up in 5 games instead of 6.
I think that other player should have been taken into consideration as well, but as has already been mentioned, he did do extremely well when he did play.
