I ride a bike. If I'm properly stopped at a stop sign and I accelerate at a normal speed from 0 mph, I might slip (that white paint is deadly) but no way is my bike going to slide and throw me badly enough to break a bone. Something's missing here. It sounds as if you were proceeding too fast for conditions or committing a traffic infraction. If you drove as a reasonably prudent driver should, there'd be riders all over the place lying in intersections.

Still, if you think you were issued the ticket erroneously, call you clerk of the courts and request a hearing. You and the officer will both have a chance to present your side of the story.

Whats missing here? i feel that a part of this question is missing, like did you stop for the stop sign? did you do a "wheelie", when taking off? was the road wet?

Lets face it, your motorcycle did not just cause this accident by itself. it had a friend, you.

Attend the four hour defensive driving class and mark this incident as a lesson to drive your motorcyle more defensively.

You are fortunate that you survived with no injuries.

Well, if it slid then I assume it had to be wet out, but you don't say this. Bikes have very small contact areas but an experienced rider should know that road paint can pose a danger. If it slipped, it would mean that you put a fair amount of throttle on off of the line, causing it to break contact and subsequently throw you off the bike. I'd (based on what I know and the facts presented) support the ticket. However, I wasn't there and I don't know what kind of bike you have. If you want to challenge it in court you can. Take pictures of the scene, blah blah (I've answered too many of these Qs).

If it honestly persuades you that you're right, then fight it. If, after gathering all of your evidence, you are not persuaded in your favour, then you can choose to still fight it or just pay the fine.

    Good luck,
    Hope this helps

You accelerated too quickly to properly control the braking ability of your vehicle: the very definition of reckless driving. You can bet that if a car gunned out of a stop into a left turn and flipped their vehicle, they would also get a similar ticket for it. Quit whining; stop blaming road paint and cagers; learn how to ride safely and intelligently.

Sounds like stupidity, carelessness, inexperience, DUI and/or a jerk. No cop tickets you for the kind of bike you have - if they want to admire a bike they'll stop you but not write a ticket.

If you were honestly a careful, intelligent, experienced, sober and non-jerky rider then go to court and show the judge.

Sorry to hear that, but what is your question? If you were driving too fast near an upcoming Stop sign, that was careless, so if you were cited that is why.
