Is there a Windows application that will help me create a family tree?

    Well there is a lot if you google it. Chances are that most of them are not that good. If you dig deeper into one of the sites, you can actually find some information. One of the good applications I have found is actually sitting in http://www.familysearch.org/ (I cannot give you the direct link because of link problems), click on Order/Download Products, then click on Software Downloads - Free, then finally either click Personal Ancestral File 5.2.18.0 - Multi-Language (9.7 MB) for information or click download (follow the instructions).

    Personal Ancestral File 5.2 (build 5.2.18.0) is a Windows®-based version of one of the most widely used genealogical management programs for home computers. The software program can be downloaded free from the Internet. PAF 5.2 does not provide genealogical data. Instead, it helps users organize their family history records. It can produce, either on screen or on paper, family histories, pedigree charts, family group records, and other reports to help users in their search for missing ancestors.

    I researched a lot about it, it is a very legitimate program. Enjoy!

    YES MOST DEFINENTATLY I WOULD SUGGEST A OPEN WINDOW application WITH A VIEW OF THE YARD AND A NICE SUMMER OAK SURROUNDED BY SOME VIOLET TUPLIP ARRANGMENTS
    Awwwwww i can smell the daffodils
    put a burger on the grill for me!

    Family Tree Maker is the program I have used for years and I find it quite useful. However, YOU have to dig out the information on your family and enter it into the program after you have proven the authenticity of the information. Downloading trees and other information on your surname from the web will get you into trouble right away because much of what is on the web is incorrect or not documented.

    Do not accept as valid any information you get from an online tree. Check the original sources for yourself.

    Document, document, document.

    Then enter the data in your computer program.
