• Well, thank you. Maybe I'm being nice because I don't believe the prevailing dogma that people are fat because they eat too much or are lazy. It's because they are being lied to by the schools and media that eating fruits, vegetables, whole grains, etc. are good for you. Vegetarian lies!

• Regardless of what your genetics are, no person can become or remain overweight without eating too many carbohydrates. You could eat 5000 cals/day (no carbs) and be a couch potato and you would go down to a normal body weight quickly. For more info google "What if it's all been a big, fat lie?"

• "It is very easy to lose weight without depriving yourself or exercising." This is simple not true for all people. It is actually easier for a man to lose weight then a women due to their hormones. I have tried all sorts of diets and not one has worked for me. I exercise and eat healthy and still the weight does not come off. Some people assume just because it was easy for them it is easy for everyone. Food can be an addiction, as bad as herione. Breaking an addiction isn't "simple" it is hard as hell for some people. There are those that can go cold turkey, but not everyone is like that.

• Quite untrue. I assume you have never tried the low carb diet because of all these "experts" who tell you it is dangerous. Keep in mind that almost all of these nutrition "experts" are vegetarians or near vegetarians. And you know how these people can be. Note their wording, "given their association with." In other words another meaningless observational study. There is an association with storks arriving in the spring and a rise in the birth rate. So what? A good study will put some people on one diet and some on another and compare outcomes. Only a few such studies have been done and they always show the Atkins comes out on top in both weight loss and better overall health like lower cholesterol, etc. To find out more info google "What if it's all been a big, fat lie?" Once you realize that you have been lied to you can go on living the life of a skinny person without any suffering. And you will be a lot healthier, too.

• I agree with you that a low carb diet is the best way to lose weight. When I have reduced the amount of simple carbs I have seen better results on a diet. But a no-carb diet and limits to healthy food put on by Atkins is one of the cause of major illnesses.

• Try eliminating the complex carbohydrates as well. A no carb diet causes no illnesses whatsoever. That is, as long as you are not overdoing the protein. A no carb diet is a high fat diet, not a high protein one. So avoid the lean meat.
  There was an experiment done 80 years ago by some of the top nutrition researchers of the day(from John Hopkins, Mayo clinic, etc.) on the effects of an all meat diet for a year on two volunteers. Before the study the researchers were quite convinced that the participants would die of vitamin deficiencies, like scurvy, and other health problems. However, nothing happened. No ill effects were found at all. See "Adventures in diet."
  Don't assume because government controlled bodies tell you something, and they're unaminous about it, then it must be true. The big food companies have tremendous lobbying power. They fund almost all the nutrition research today. You wouldn't believe a tobacco company's study on smoking, why General Mills on food?

  You quote John Hopkins research over 80 years ago but they did a 2000 study on Atkins and they found it increased illnesses in people. Use current data.
  
  Atkins does not say to avoid lean meat. And fatty meats builds up bad cholesterol causing heart disease and high risk of heart attacks.
  
  Long term problems caused by Atkins diets including low blood phosphate levels, resorption of calcium from bone, increased risk of osteoporosis, and an increased propensity to form kidney stones.
  
  In studies of general populations, low fiber intake is associated with increased risk of colon cancer and other malignancies, heart disease, diabetes, and constipation. *This study wasn't even done on the Atkins diet but on low fiber intake, which is what Atkins promotes.
  
  Maybe you shouldn't believe everything you read either?

• The reason I quoted from research from 80 years ago is that no such study has been done since. Why not? Isn't anybody curious? Or is it because they think they know the answer already without any evidence? Have you looked closely at those studies you cite? "Long term problems caused by Atkins diets" How is it is even remotely possible to know this as no long term experimental study on the Atkins diet has been done yet? Lots of completely meaningless observational studies, Im sure. But we really don't need them. There are many groups of people in the world who have only recently been civilized. Before that they ate a mostly meat diet. They never seemed to suffer from our modern diseases of heart attacks, obesity, cancer, and diabetes.
  That is until they were put on a modern diet and these problems appeared almost immediately. But none of this matters. People go vegetarian for moral/religious reasons and no amount of evidence will change their minds.

  You can't be serious with this argument, life spans have greatly increases since the 1900's by approximately 40 years. The reason people were not diagnosed with cancer or diabetes was because know one knew how to diagnose them. In fact it has only been in the last hundred years that medical science has even truly existed.
  Obesity can been seen back throughout the centuries through art and historical writings. And a heart attacks back in the day was seen as natural causes because know one knew how they died.
  
  You site a John Hopkins study done over 80 years ago but you did not site the study done specifically on the Atkin diet, which talks about the medical dangers that can come from the Atkin's diet. Johns Hopkins Diabetes White Paper re: Atkins

A thousand worthless studies do not trump one good one. Since you have not read any of suggestions I gave for further study I am going to assume that you are not curious. That you have already made up your mind and will not change it for any reason whatsoever. That is the nature of religion.

• I mostly agree with you hear, except for the bigger men bit, just chat with any guy you fancy, most normal guys, do not go for the supper fit chicks. They are usually thick as hell and often think too much of themselves. Men look for girls who are fun and sexy, size has little to do with it, in fact from what I know the so called hot girls are much less fun in the sack ; - )

• Ok, so if you have a condition such as Aspergers then relationships can be difficult, but it is not good advice to others to learn to live without something that could make there life so much better.
  plenty people with Aspergers have working relationships, I guess it all depends on how far up the scale you are as to how difficult it all becomes.
  PS you have a poor group of friends if they ridicule you for Aspergers, I would suggest you look for some better ones
