you ask this before and i answered !! again talk to him and smile. the only difference you skipped a grade in less than 5 minutes.

I have about the same problem, only SHE is not my best friend, just a good one.
To answer your question, I think best would be to just to smile at him, perhaps touch him (at appropriate times and places, mind!) and if that doesn't make him crazy, go for the direct approach; tell him you like him a bit more than "best friends".

I tried the direct approach once, which turned out very good, only didn't become anything because of a mistake of my own: Always stay yourself and open!
