In my opinion, both are valid.
If you are looking for a more proper-sounding phrase, I would recommend avoiding the use of contractions:
"That is not the case here"

yes but sometimes I think it sounds too 'wordy' then. Oh and I forgot to mention this is only an issue w/ me when it comes to typing/writing it out!
