I think the best thing to do is try to become more social. Try being more open. You may end up making more friends within that group.

You're reading I'm good friends with this one guy in my dorm, but he _always_ hangs out with one group of people (his neighbors; I live on a different floor), and I get uncomfortable around groups. Should I keep forcing myself to do stuff with the group, or give up?
