Where are people getting all these ideas that just b/c the myan calendar ends in 2012 means that the whole world will end I mean where is the proof? I want to know what all the hype is about, they even made a movie about it , why? What do you believe?

I believe most folks are leading such dreary lives that ANY notion of their not having to live their entire lives as Mundanes, is quite attractive to them. Thus for millenia, the End of the World has been predicted countless times... According to Isaac Asimov's Book of Facts (1979), an Assyrian clay tablet dating to approximately 2800 BC was unearthed bearing the words "Our earth is degenerate in these latter days. There are signs that the world is speedily coming to an end. Bribery and corruption are common." Here you can find many examples of failed world-ending predictions.. and we are still here. I don't believe that the world will end in 2012. By the way, the world like we know it ends all the time. Tic-tac, and its changed already!
