Is LAW and ORDER SVU popular in the States?
Here in Sydney people can't seem to get enough of it!

The Law and order SVU is the highest rated in the series of Law and Order shows and very popular here in the states. I continue to watch all the different ones when I am lucky enough to catch them on.

I love love love it. It's one of my favorite shows! I sometimes get to see Mariska Hargitay because I work in the same buidling as NBC studios.

Because of cable TV, Americans can be watching one of the Law and Order shows at almost any time around the clock. And they do! SVU is one of the major crowd pleasers. People will be watching it for generations to come......

It is very popular here. I used to watch it all the time but it has taken to far of a left hand turn for me. Usually if a show goes too far in one direction then I stop watching.

- Well on the regular Law and Order they have people of many different views and it covers a wider spectrum of ideas and opinions on key issues in society today. Some of the characters are very conservative some are very liberal and some are middle of the road. On SVU I am finding that most of the issues are skewed towards the left and most of the characters are on the liberal side. It doesn't reflect our society as a whole as well as the original one does. It is in fact very unkind to many groups and portrays them as nutcases without ever even implying that many people in those groups are perfectly normal and not at all like what is portrayed on the show. On the original I find that the views are more varied and they do tend to show both sides of most issues.
