How did Hershey's Kisses get named?

No one really knows. But it is a popular theory that the candy was named for the sound or motion of the chocolate being deposited during the manufacturing process. That it made either a kissing sound, or that the chocolates looks like it's kissing the conveyor belt coming out. It's also possible that it's an appropriation of what was a common industry term for a dab of chocolate. But basically, no one really knows. There are just theories, some more popular then others.
