I don't get upset anyway. Virtually all downrates are just because somebody doesn't agree with an opinion, rather than being an indication that an answer wasn't helpful.

Not for the DR. I might not agree with their reasoning, however.

But I will ALWAYS respect a person who will leave me a comment explaining WHY they DR'd me, even if I think they are wrong for their reason. I have a great deal of respect for ANYONE who will stand up for their actions and not hide behind the wall of anonymity.

No. I will take it as constructive criticism and work on it.

I may not agree with their reason but at least I would respect the fact that they had the honesty to leave a comment.

Sometimes, OK often, I screw up. If I answered dead wrong clue me in. If you just disagree, well....

Only if they got nasty in their explanation and I never intended my post to be offensive. I will gladly take a down rate because it is your opinion but I don't take disrespectful behavior very well.

Not at all, even if they don't tell me the reason - although I'd find it much more helpful to know what upset them.

Something different entirely are down-ratings just for fun, and under the cover of anonymity, "just because they can" !
