A recipe book from the 18th century mentions "sliced cow heels and sauce of minced pig ears". How would you have survived on food like this?

    whoa!that's all.I would not go to that hotel.How could I eat "sliced cow heels and sauce of minced pig ears".No chance.I would even die but won't touch that food.

    I probably would not have had a problem with it if it was a diet that I was used to.
    EDIT
    in relation to health, people did not live long enough to suffer diet related diseases, and food like this would have provided a lot of energy.

    Mostly cartilage and gelatin. Some protein at least. They used a similar recipe in Britain during the war (steaks were rather scarce).
