I lived in a trailer for many years. Actually bought a house because the mortgage payments on a house was cheaper. A small, cheap house anyway.

I would rather own a trailer. It's dangerous in bad weather but at least it's mine. If I was renting to own an house and all things equal, I prefer the house.

I would much rather own something I can maybe sell later and recoup on. Renting is just pissing the money away.

Own the trailer. At least you can get SOMETHING back out of it when you decide to sell it.
