How do you look in nooses?
If you want to be treated even remotely with any tact, I'd recommend you emulate the "accent".
Which isn't really all that difficult to act, considering most southerners have to work hard to maintain it too.
The same as anyone else - courteously, until he or she works to wears out their welcome.
I just recently moved to Texas from California, and I haven't had any trouble. Of course, I really only discuss my views with people I already know and trust, so that might help too.
if you never,ever use the expression "we used to do it this way up north" you'll get along a little better.just a tip from four generations of Floridians.
