Is Red Marine algae (gigartina skottsbergii) safe to take as a supplement. I want to take one 350 mg dose for 10-14 days a month to combat herpes. Ive read that carrageenans are very dangerous. I'm wondering if the type of carrageenans in it are safe

I do a form of kinesiology and test products and foods on myself to see if they are strenghening for me. When I tested the red algae gigartina it tested as being very positive for me. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis. I do not take any medications other than an occasional Aleve. When i took this supplement my inflammation subsided and my overall strength increased. I had a feeling of well being and whether it was because of the supplement or simply feeling stronger I could not tell. I took it for about 20 days and I took 4-8 small capsules a day. I take other seaweeds and algaes but none had the dramatic immediate results of this one. It is not a cure but I will continue to take it.
