What are the chances of a patient surviving an operation that intails removing a tumor that's non cancerous that has grown through the cerebellum and partly down the brain stem?

    JUSTNORMAL

    This is a very serious condition, however with the new techniques in the area of Neurosurgery, and the fact it is not malignant, that patient has 2 very positive things in his or her corner. People have survived this surgery and even more dangerous ones.

    My daughter had an astrocytoma of the cerebellum and she came through ok, but this one sounds a bit more serious. It really depends on the type of tumour and how it has attached itself. A neurosurgeon could give you better advice.
