Chicago
I think I'll be on a highway??
One version of I-355 is part of a western suburban Chicago route. It used to go from I-90 and connect to I-55. About two years ago, an extension opened to connect the route to I-80 From I-80, going North, it starts off being called the Veteran's highway. It goes through Homer Glen, Lisle, and other suburbs. Once you cross I-88, it's called the NW Tollway, where it takes you into Schaumburg, IL., officially ends at I-90, but the new name is now SR 53. That continues through Cook County, Illinois, as a super highway where it transforms into a surface route right about rand road. IL. 53 will then continue until it merges with IL. 83 in Long Grove, Illinois. IL. 83 takes you into Wisconsin.
It's a very familiar route for me, take it several times a week. May treat you to a day at the Morton Arboretum if you ever visit the states one day.
