I think they would make more money if they are working for one company because knowing how good they are, their salary would be very high. Some companies may not want your work knowing other companies can purchase it too.
I'd say to work for the company - they need a constant flow of new designs for their customers.

You're reading Is it financially better for a greeting card designer to earn royalties off their designs by "renting" to many companies, or to work exclusively with one company where they purchase your individual designs? I am curious about my options.
