Just my opinion here, any time money is taken from the people and applied to anything,it is socialist. Therefore, in my opinion both situations are socialist. In both situation I have no freedom to choose where my money goes and how it is applied. I think my money has been taken by force and coersion. How could you explain all the problems i'd encounter if I withheld the money they would of taken, if it was not by force?

Your question contains many ______. For instance "equal access" sort of since it's compulsory, like being drafted. "Free" public education is not free it's paid for up front by tax's so will "access" to "universal health care".

Why the different treatment of the two subjects? Education is for brainwashing/programing drones, every political system needs drones and it works. The "health care" system on the other hand does not work, right now the politicians are not response able and they do not want to be.

Free public education is socialist, and with capitalist schooling (private) payment is required before being admitted.

I couldn't be more lost with this question if they blind folded me, drove me to the middle of the forest, spun me around 150 times and left me there in the middle of the night.

Technically, Socialism is a system of government owns and/or controls the means of production and distribution of goods and services in the economy (dictionary definition). Health care is very obviously a force in the economy (the production and distribution of goods and services). An elementary school is not.

Historically education has been a community thing until you got to college or university. Shared resources in the local community is not generally considered socialism. Many of the same people who want the federal government out of personal health care also want the feds out of the local schools for similar (practical, fiscal and constitutional) reasons.

Unlike health care, schools do not really produce marketable goods and services. A newer, better drug, machine or procedure has value that can be sold for more than the cost of developing and producing it creating revenue for the inventor, producer and developer. Schools do not typically produce marketable goods and services that bring income, but they do benefit the community and its businesses. Schools are more like libraries - shared community resources, and not much like health care. The two are not really comparable.
