I honestly don't pay much attention to the points, but tend to think a person who DR's simply due to disagreeing with the opinion expressed is not looking for answers - only support for their own beliefs and views.

One interesting point about being DRed.. editors of newspapers like to see their columnists be 'DRed' because it means they are attracting a variety of readers and are not afraid to express their views, but the DRers obviously must express why they disagree and identify themselves.
So be a fearless and interesting AB writer and kick some ass; or you can be nice and score more points and make friends.

Then I look to see what the problem MIGHT be, usually finding nothing. I will usually make a statement to the DRer. (Since we don't know who really DRed us, unless they make a statement to that effect, and many times, even those who DISAGREE will uprate us, I comment "DRer..." and ask what they thought was wrong. Sometime I will leave the link to a video for them, such as http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LCsiWL6gn0 . Then I let it go.
