It depends on how good your public defender is. Probation to 1 year in jail and anything in between.

In califronia at lease 6 months plus what ever other charges you get while running from the cops

Really depends on why you were evading. You did something to get his attention, then left the scene. What you did was the real infraction, not necessarily the leaving part. "Evasion" is usually a misdemeanor that the officer can enforce or drop. It's what you did initially that is the problem, evasion is secondary. You don't get jail time for evasion; maybe overnight detention at most. Unless you have something outstanding...

The max if the charge is under a felony is 3 years in a state prison but I would really talk to a lawyer and give him the details because evading is a hard thing to prove in a courts eye! be very honest with your lawyer so he can deal with this in the right manner.

You keep evading the police officer and you won't go to jail. They have to catch you first.

EVADING a law Enforcement Officer is a FELONY in MoST jusridictions / States ... You usually will get a MINIMUM of ONE YEAR in a State Prison once you are caught ... The longer it cost, the more expense they use to get you , the more law enforcement vehicles - helicopters etc they use to capture you etc ... The WORSE you will get in court .... +5
