  • Don't think so. Abuse is the constant verbal assault. Name calling, berating, belittling, etc. Calling someone a name, in the midst of a fight, is hardly abuse.
  • I don't think it would be verbal abuse on it's own.
  • I don't count that as verbal abuse.
  • I wouldn't call it verbal abuse but it's certainly not a smart thing to do. It shows that you are immature and lose respect for your s/o in the heat of a fight. I have an ex who learned from his parents, very early in his life, that it's okay to swear and belittle your s/o with names in a petty argument. It's quite a shame, really, because I don't consider myself a sensitive person, but I got tired of little snubs being thrown in there when there was a disagreement.
