Probably. Can't you counter-sue her for doing this? In a way, this is kind of stealing from him or something.

Since you are not specific about "what" she doesn't like, I will assume it is child support and or alimony. For child support, he can get a court appointed attorney, if he is the defendant in the case. if it is just a civil case, I would recommend that he do the following: Read up on all the state and local laws that effect his case, and if it is child support read up on the welfare reform act and other federal laws. If at all possible, try to settle the matter without going to court, women think that the courts are helping them in child support issues, when in fact, the state has a vested interest in the outcome, since they receive a portion of the funds for "processing fees" once they establish the child support amount.
