If this was the '50s or '60s, I'd answer "Affirmative!" ! But in TODAY'S world. . . . . . . . .no! Too much violence!

On the whole, I don't think so. It created a culture of complacent, passive people who watch things instead of doing things. This affects every aspect of their lives from education and learning - to health matters - to their relationships (soap operas!).

I would say a different place due to the availability of more information. I imagine that the emphasis on violence and conflict over good time programs would have an adverse effect.
