I believe that it is in insult. I don't believe we evolved from monkeys. God made Adam and Eve, and those are our ancestors. Not monkeys or gorillas or chimps or whatever hairy animal there is out there. I refuse to believe the theory of evolution. Everything was created by the Lord.
-
I believe in evolution, and I don't believe we evolved from monkeys. Hmm. One of us must be really talking nonsense.
-
If you believe in God then you will believe that said monkey is one of his cherished creatures, worthy of a 1st class ticket on Noah's Ark. So what the fuck has that got to do with evolution?
-
Why do ppl answer q's like this
-
How is it an insult to anyone? You realize we didn't evolve from monkeys, right? You're just exaggerating, right? Please tell me you're exaggerating!
-
1. Read up on evolution, you don't seem to know what you're talking about as your understanding sounds incorrect. 2. It's a perfectly reasonable theory. 3. Who cares what God thinks, particularly since it's entirely possible It does not exist?
-
god created man but the monkey supplied the glue, how can that be an insult to god? are we not men?
-
if god made Adam and Eve we would all be inbred retards. we may have not come from monkeys or gorillas or chimps but we did evolve from something jest look at everything else in the would it evolved. were still evolving its a nerve ending thing
-
I can believe in the theory of evolution because the scientific evidence is insurmountable, and I believe that science is a good tool which reveals true things about the world, God's Creation. I don't think the theory of evolution is a insult to God at all: it's a testament to how great he is.
-
Dude, you've got to be a moron! First of all, monkeys?! We didn't evolved from Hominids. Hominds evolved from apes, and apes from monkeys. Evolution is adaptation to various environment. There's micro-scale and micro-scale evolution. Within generations or over the course of centuries or millennium it's a given. It's Survival, dude. You saying evolution doesn't exist is like you saying The World is Flat. Please (for the sake of humankind) grow a brain.
-
if evolution is true or false, doesn't really matter, in relation to your last last portion of the question, isnt it an insult to god? what's an insult to god?......... that we evolved, or that we came from monkeys,? or that god is insulted by monkeys? IF god had any part in any of it, he would be pleased, if he made this whole zhabamm, monkeys were obviously a part of his greater plan as well you know............. so what does it matter, he'd be fairly proud of the whole bloody lot I would have thought !!
-
Face it! MAN is stupid. As with children, the human race goes through stages. When young children believe that their parents are the smartest people on the planet. As a teen they believe that their parents are stupid and don't get anything. As adults We KNOW all those times that we SHOULD have listened, although we still can't allow ourselves to admit that they could be right, so that we might learn from them now.
-
No you have it backwards god is an insult to history and evolution....
-
Do you have an open mind for debate? Because if you do, read on. If you don't, then don't ask an open ended question when you are only looking for people to agree with you. If we really all came from Adam and Eve, then how do you explain all the different races of today? That's a fair amount of change within 6,000 years. Also, if Noah only brought 2 of each animal, then how do you explain the over 150 different species of dog ranging from Chihuahua, to Poodles, to Retrievers within 4,000 years? There is nothing wrong with asking questions. If we didn't ask, we wouldn't have known that the earth revolves around the sun instead of vice versa. Why would knowing facts like this be an insult to God?
-
How do you know what happened? You were not there!
-
If God is all powerful, then why could He not have used evolution in the work of creation? Why would it be an insult to Him to suggest that such a thing is possible? When I look at what we learn from science about the universe around us and the mechanics of life, I stand all the more in awe of the majesty of God's handiwork. It would be a insult to God to use this as an excuse to deny God's existence and His roll in our creation, but it is not an insult to try to understand how He went about the work of creation.
-
If you believe in the bible and everything about the business of religion, then you can very believe we all are decedents of monkeys. We evolved from creatures already here. Number reason I have a problem with the whole god angle is because they are still trying to make people believe god is a white man, when even the bible, these same folks preach from tells them otherwise. They also have you believe Adam and Eve are again white people, which geographically was and is an impossibility!! We came from monkeys, deal with it, and first known man was found in Africa!!! When you go to the Zoo, you may be looking at a relative in the gorilla and monkey cages!!!
-
It all gives me a major headache.
-
We did not evolve from monkeys. Monkeys and homo sapiens share a common evolutionary ancestor. Fossil evidence makes evolution indisputable. Those who hold to ancient creation myths are not rational persons. Their views are not worth considering except as a political threat, when their bullying is forcing this theological mythology to be taught as science along side genuine anthropology. This is one of the worst attributes of democracy; any moron over 18 has the same vote as a credentialed expert in a field."Creationism" is theology, not science. It does not belong in public schools any more than a catechism class does. +5

I'll answer your question with another question... Why would someone who believed in evolution give a rats ass if they're insulting God by doing so? They believe in evolution.. so they obviously don't believe in God, or at least not the one that you're talking about.
-
What is an insult is that you do not believe God could be the designer behind evolution. The reason science believes in evolution is because there are skeletons of animals that show their evolution throughout time. Human skeletons have also been found that show their evolution.
-
I don't know, I have never seen God, how do I know he doesn't look like a monkey and we humans went and evolved just to be an insult?+4
-
First, NOBODY says we evolved from monkeys. That is a totally different branch. And why should it be an insult to God that He should use a very handy tool kit to do the work? Is a carpenter less a woodworker because he uses a mill and a lathe? Ridiculous!
-
Inaccuracies aside, I could just as easily ask how you can believe in the theory of God.... isn't it an insult to rational thought?
-
If God doesn't like it he can come down here and tell us to "cut it out".....but if he's not bitching about it I'd say either he doesn't care or most likely doesn't exist. I'm sick of people "speaking for God", let Him do His own speaking for a change - after all - He is God - and can certainly mind His own business without any help from us mere mortals.

God is an indoctrination and an opinion. Science has demonstrated and proven an almost complete trail from the earliest microbes to the most advanced animals we have today. It is not just a theory. However, there are also anomalies in science which do point to creative influence. A theory called 'Intelligent Design' has shown how evolutionary design takes one step at a time to reach a certain state, where a kind of a 'sum of it's parts' brings a final result, but each component would work on it's own. Intelligent design has brought to light things in nature where a 'sum of it's parts' would simply not function with even one component missing. This could possibly be explained away if it weren't for the fact that none of the components exist anywhere else in nature, and none of the components have any use on their own. THEY COULD ONLY HAVE BEEN DESIGNED! This is a fascinating demonstration and has really opened the world of science up to the question that there may very well be some kind of creator.

To answer the first part of your question directly, I will use 3 syllables: ev-i-dence. I am a research scientist and could go into much more detail, but I suspect it would be a waste of time as from the way you asked your question I highly doubt that you are actually interested in a reasonable discussion. So I won't waste my time. Also, who cares if you perceive something as an insult to your faith? If your faith cracks under real-world evidence, then your faith is probably poorly placed and you have very little understanding of what you actually believe and don't believe. If you start yelling about insults to a being that I don't think is real in the first place (but that's beside the point), it indicates that you are the type of person who bleats mindlessly whatever you've been told to and the idea of alternate ideas is scary. Outside of the US most Christians accept evolution anyway. Your attitude just reveals that all you are actually capable of when dealing with new concepts, and even in understanding your own beliefs, is brain-farts, rather than actual thought and debate.
-
you need to get your facts right, as evolution is just about FACT nowadays. & we didn't evolve from monkeys. who cares about God, anyway? it's not like He's real. even if He was, we don't know what He did or didn't do. all we know is what a bunch of guys wrote & then a bunch of guys edited & then another guy edited even more.
-
It's not an insult to God. You presume to know the mind of God. The intent, the everything of God. Don't you think that God can create mystery if He wanted to? Do you really believe that man can figure out all the questions of the mystery of existence, all by his lonesome? If you believe in God, you believe in his all-knowing, all-powerful wonder. You don't presume he is everything you've been taught growing up, spoon fed, really, by the church, or any preacher or The Bible. You look around at this earth and you find wonder in it, and you conclude, on your own, that there must be a God. When you can say that, when your faith is that deep, you will no longer have any concern about evolution, because you won't need to answer the question.
-
I am decended from an ape. Anyway, what is wrong with monkeys? Open them up and count the organs and structures, very similar hey?
-
I'd like to see anyone credible actually say we evolved from monkeys with a straight face. And I don't think it is possible to insult an imaginary being.
-
Evidence. I don't. I don't care.
-
What's so bad about monkeys?

What are you, The Pope or what?
