Be around people who act nice to me but don't really mean it.
-
I don't think we have a choice.
-
The ones who play nicely. I don't need angry, hurtful care. +5
-
If you are around a schitzophrenic, you can have them both.
-
I probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference. +5

I'd rather be around people who act mean/aggressive, but truly do care about me deep inside, but only if that's the vibe I get from them. Also, it depends on what you mean by "mean/aggressive".
-
Neither. If I had to choose between those, I'd rather become a hermit. But there are other people fortunately.
-
I hate superficialness so the second one.
-
They may be stern maybe that's their personality BUT if they're mean and aggressive that's something else. Then I don't think they truly care about you deep inside.
-
I'd rather be around people with manners, even if they don't "mean it" (whatever that means). For the most part, people have different persona's in public then they do in their private life anyway - that's just a fact of life, and one I can live with. Why torture myself with jerk's who make me feel like crap in the name of some sort of "tough love"? +3
-
I'd choose the people with manners, because I'm better at detecting phony politeness than determining whether a hard-@$$ed person likes me. To me, if the person doesn't try to check his/her aggressive tendencies around me, then I conclude that he/she really must not care all that much. Being mean to someone we love usually drives them away eventually.
-
I'd take the former if they were entertaining. In the meantime, I'd minimize my time with them, get a pet, and spend the rest of my free time looking for nice people who really care about me.
-
I strongly dislike phonies; but I also have a low tolerance for nasty people. LoL I would probably put both them in their place.
