  • The only people who will not either judge this person or report him to the bishop... would be a jack Mormon or visiting family member of a Mormon. Anyone else is instructed at their expense, to relay any doubtful and or un doctrine uplifting information, directly to the bishop. Kinda controlling don't yeah think?
  • From mine own experiences: nowhere. They're usually reported on, and told to buck up, pray more, or get disfellowshipped.
  • There wouldn't be anywhere to go without being dismissed either because what your talking about is taboo, or because the person didn't really have the answer. Maybe you would get a brief answer to try and make you happy and stop the discussion. I normally find that people go to others who have either been in the same situation or are 'out of the church' by choice - inactive, name remonal request, excommunication and then left etc. I know a member that I've had a number of discussions with that said that "the kind of exchange we are having... is such a breath of fresh air compared to the predictable dogma of church leaders".
  • They could come talk to me, I'm certainly no history buff Mormon or secular but I am a good listner and I wont judge or ostracize and I don't have authority to excommunicate. Or if you want to talk to someone a little bit more in the know you could talk to John Haddock in Belfast. More practically you could just talk to another friendly type person in your ward. I should hope there are no wards (of a church that warns against digging for motes when you know you have a beam) devoid of non-judgemental people.
