  • Most of my supervisors were just great .. helpful and supportive. I did have one that was very condescending and always acted amazed when I did a good job. But, I just took that as a challenge to continue to "amaze" him until he finally realized I knew what I was doing. I don't think he had a very high opinion of "support personnel" from previous experiences. It was a shame he didn't even give me a chance before he judged me. Happy Sunday Rosie .. is tomorrow the big day??
  • 50-50...Buttholes and Good guys. I am lucky at the present time, because I work a shift that I don't have to deal with the "day ladies" in the office. I just do my job and make sure my people do theirs. So far, things have worked well that way...It is sort of like the military. When I was in the war (all wars are the same) we fought the enemy and the officers did...whatever officers do....A perfect working relationship. The less we saw of them the better we liked it...and the less they had to deal with us...probably the better they liked it...(lol)
  • I've worked for a variety of people in my life. some have been super bosses and others have been horrible. I've been a boss myself. If I made one mistake as a boss, it was not being strong enough and letting people take advantage of me.
  • Most of my supervisors have not been good. On occaision, like right now, I have been lucky. My current supervisor is really great to work with. He doesn't always have much time, but he really helps me and gives me great direction.
  • I've had all kinds and some were both. My current boss is mostly hands off unless an issue arises.
  • My superior is a hardass and expects me to be the same way. That's Army life. +5 Rosie Happy Monday1
  • Bosses, helpful and supportive? My bosses would get an F- for the way that they treat people. For instance, there was a young girl that had just vomited and need to go home, the manager asked her to stick around to see if she felt better. All the while putting the other employee's at risk if she had a virus. She did go to the doctor's and found out she had food poisoning. Nice, huh? I told the manager my mother had alzheimers and I need Saturday's off to take care of her. She told me that I knew what I was getting into working retail. And this is a so-called "Christian" organization. The Salvation Army. They also have hardly provided the basics such as toilet paper to the employee's and soap and water to wash their hands. I brought my own. It's really pathetic. All the while the SA is spending at least a million dollars opening up the place. They work you to death while paying you minimum wage. I'm not impressed, are you? If times weren't so hard in Michigan I would quit, but I need my job. Unfortunately.
