I was perfectly content to stop at NONE!
No i have none and never will ,why mar somthing that is perfect,,,,!!
Addictions are not addictive yet our souls if they are empty. Let's turn towards the techer: Jesus the Christ!
I have only one. I dunno if I'll ever get another. It is mostly money that is stopping me and I sometimes think about another but have never really had an urge to go out and do it or save money for it.
'Addictive' is the wrong word unless we are talking about some strange variety of needle-specific masochism and even then I don't know that you could call it a physical dependence.
.
I believe that what happens is that people get a tattoo when they're young that is small - they've never done it before and they don't have a whole lot of money in any case - and fits their current maturity level.
.
Eventually that Tweetybird on your ass just doesn't give you that same feeling of living on the edge it used to. So now you need something real, something permanent, something with your girlfriend's name on it!
.
OK, well that sucks. She was a bitch anyway. Time to get that 'tat that will cover the other 'tat. Not that you especially like the design but the important thing is that the name is eRASED from memory and skin. So, black work tribal thing with a suspiciously name-sized blorp in the middle.
.
At this point, if you don't belong to the Yakuza, the Navy or a Motorcycle gang your choices are wide open, even if your canvas already has a few spots on it. Maybe something to accent your junk because nothing says 'good lovin' like eyeballs, flames and lawnmowers.
i have my one and i am very content.
I have one, a rose on my lower leg by my ankle. That's enough. +5
Would love to get one but its a little pointless now. would put it where it wasnt easily seen in public and no one in private would be interested anyway. LOL+5
Two is enough for me. +5
I can not explain the addiction....I said just one on my back where I can hide...I now have two and desire to have another...but I d o keep them in places i can easilycover at appropriate times...its almost like..I dunno how to explain it....sorry but it is addictive...even my wife wants another one...its like its taboo or something
It is addicting. I read somewhere that it was the endorphins that your body produces to numb the pain. I loved getting them and now I have 4. It's an awesome thrill.
Personally I think it is because you are doing something extreme that you can be proud of (if you get something good).
lots of people only have one and stop there, many more go back to add another and some like me carry on and thats where the saying comes"im craving for another tattoo"now its addictive i hope nobody starts a tattoo rehab out there.lol
I think people are addicted to tattoos for many reasons, for decoration, for the love of art, for the pain. Your reasons for getting a tattoo are sometimes a personal thing.I have many tattoos and I have them all for different reasons. Not all the tattoos I have have a meaning, just for the love of art.

You're reading Tattoos are said to be addictive. Do you have only one and feel content to stop at that?

Fair enough, it's not for everyone, thank you.

You're right . . . it's not for everyone and there is definitely a bit of a generation gap, I think, in who likes them and who doesn't. I know it's considered "body art" now. Whatever works. :)
