  • I watched the original programme and didn't think it was out of order at all, and then watched Have I Got New For You to discover there had been an outcry about it. It's much ado about nothing, and it is the usual thing that often happens nowadays of people looking for offence where none exists.
  • Typical BBC political correctness. Of course, after the Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand episode I suppose you can expect them to be a bit careful when they receive complaints about any show. What I can't understand is how anybody could possibly have found the comment racist. I would have thought people who watch current affairs programmes to be a bit more sensible. Anyway, I like chocolate Hob Nobs - they are my favourite
  • It's a tricky one. I saw the original broadcast, & at the time I did think it might be skirting close to the edge. However my take on racism etc is, was the person the comment was directed to offended? & Diane Abbot didn't appear to be. The grey area for me is how much weight to give to anyone watching who might have felt offence.... don’t really have an answer to that. Likewise, I thought the apology was ace!
  • Its racist against whites - how come black people get the tasty textured chocolatey confection and we get the (IMHO) cruddy cardboardy over-sweet, bland and boring one? I've got freckles. Can I be a Garibaldi?
  • Well here's a childs opinion (: Its a load of rubbish if I'm honest. I can't stand the way this country is turning; everything we do has to be politcally corrected. If i said to my friend at school 'your a chocolate biscuit' in jest and he replied with something similiar, in my opinion, i would be the one punished because I'm abusing the minority. We are so paranoid that any observation we make is going to be taken the worst way and insult people. If i was trying to describe my black friend to a teacher i would genuinely feel nervous about mentioning he's black. If we're such a united country then we should be able to make a simple joke about someone elses appearance without them taking offence Anyone see Clarkson's WW2 joke with the VW advert? I found that hilarious. I bet the majority of complaints were people with no links to Germany or Poland thinking 'Damn, that's going to insult the Germans or Polish, better do something about it.' When will be able to sit back and have a laugh about each other without it being considered wrong?
