What do you think about people using Wikipedia as a factual reference to their answers? Is it as reliable as people believe?

• Thank you Qwerty, I've been trying to tell the " Wiki has it posted, it must be true" people this for a year. I've seen in there that African Elephants are capable of sustained super sonic flight and that the definition of the word Reality is "Stephen Colbert Rocks". I too saw the article on Sinbad being dead. He got sent a lot of flowers from wiki users.

• I saw on the news last week that certain Universities are banning it's use as a reference for their papers for class due to its inaccuracy.

• Wikipedia does have a disclaimer on its home page. They make it very clear that the info is arbitrarily posted by the pub lic and indicates that some info may not be accurate.
  Good enough for me. I use it as a resource...more often or not, the info has enough accuracy that I feel I have learned something useful and factual.
