Well, ahh, no. Coyotes don't attack people. Neither do wolves. That is an old myth and fairy tales are full of "big bad wolves". Coyotes are predators upon small prey, like rabbits and prairie dogs. They help keep things under control. Wolves used to keep the large herbivore animals in balance, but they were wiped out in the US years ago. Ranchers thought they were a danger to their livestock. They may have taken some now and then, but, it was of little consequence. When they were eliminated, things went bonkers. Deer, elk, and antelope herds multiplied so fast that they became the threat...to crops. In the wild, overpopulation caused mass starvation and disease. When you mess with the balance, bad things start to happen. Wolves have now been re-introduced in many wilderness areas in the U.S. There was opposition from ranchers and others but..screw them. They were even given guarantees that they would be re-imbursed for any stock killed by wolves. I am sure that has led to a lot of fraud as well, but the need for the wolf in our wilderness areas is too much of a priority to quibble about dishonest cow farmers.

I'd worry more about the unpredictability of the stock markets than coyote attacks. ;)

Yes, I heard about that lady that was attacked by coyotes in the news. There are plenty of coyotes out here where I live. I've seen some of them coming into town, as I was driving by on the highway. They will get closer to town if they can't find food or water where they are. Therefore, I'm careful not to go out walking in the country unless I have someone who is carrying a loaded rifle.

Really depends where you live, doesn't it? But, in the area where I live, the coyote population has skyrocketed. It has reached the point that they are having problems with feeding themselves and are attacking smaller cattle (calves and lambs). Strangely enough they are still healthy, not getting mangy yet. If I lived in the country and had small children, I would be very careful letting them play out of my sight.

Nope, they are usually afraid of people. Believe me, I chased 1 once and it was scared of me, NOT the other way around.
