Give enough good answers in the category to earn more points than anybody else.

You need to earn more points (I think from answers) in that category than anyone else. I have somehow become a category expert for the most tiny category going!

Answer alot of questions well in a catagory. For a catagory to have an expert it needs a minimum of 25 points and 5 answers.

1) Unfortunately, there is only *one* expert per category. This is the user who has earned the most points with their answers in that category (question points don't count). 2) If you are interested in a particular category, just have a look at the category page: the category expert is displayed. For instance: "Categories » Science » Military" "Category Expert chuck Brain 49 Answers: 97 Points: 650" Source and further information: http://www.answerbag.com/c_view/1466 If you want to become the expert in that category, you need to get at least 98 points by answering questions in that category (but of course, the expert could get more points in the meantime).

Answer a minimum of five questions in a category and gain more points than the present expert. Expert status can change every day in all the categories.
