Addiction knows no reason. Addiction has no mercy.

The bodies craving for addictive substances overpowers the minds attempts at rational thoughts. Some of the symptoms that the medicine was designed to counteract (depression, etc) themselves lend weight to a self loathing that could also contribute to a mindset that perhaps the world (including her child) is better off without them.

It is hard to understand the intensity of depression or addiction if you have never experienced it. Do not try to experience it simply to gain an understanding.

If you're talking about Anna, she was LONG "gone" before that happened to her poor son. Her son's death just put her over the edge.

She didn't seem to intellient to begin with. How many dozen men claim to be the father of her daughter? Seemed to be drugged up most of her adult life.
Easy to get addicted and I'm sure all of the fools who surrounded her supply her with whatever she wanted.

Because the drugs that they were both addicted to are very hard to get off of and many people never do or die trying.

She is finally at peace, it's a sad thing to feel but she was a very tormented soul in life. When she get's a second chance, I hope she fares better.

Because she was addicted. She had to take them to stay sane.
