This is a general question that really doesn't have any single answer. If you have a presentable home and no car, a car may be more important - but that depends where you live. In a city area with good public transport, a car may not be as important as in other areas. If you're living in a cardboard box or tent, a car might be a step up - it would provide minimal security for your few belongings while you're out and about. Or you might prefer to get more conventional accommodation. if you need to travel for work, a car seems like a really good idea. and to answer your question - it all depends.
