Sure it can. Look at OJ. Innocent in criminal court and guilty in civil court. Forget that this example is OJ, the concept behind being found innocent in criminal
court and then getting found guilty in civil court (where they take all your $) is ludicrous.
Does a habeas corpus petition, filed by a friend of the prisoner, need to be served on the jailer?
