Actually the flight attendants I used to work with at United Air Lines were very positive people. To be chosen they have to go through a major screening process, then an 8 week intensive training course back at Headquarters in Elk Grove Illinois. They are people who are taught how to handle difficult people. This may rub certain people the wrong way, but it is for everyones safety. Now morale is not as good as it used to be because of the financial problems in the airline industry, but remember the Flight Attendants are the first line of defense in protecting the passengers. I think they do a fantastic job considering the circumstances.
If only. The ones I've seen lately seem like disgrunted employees. If you don't sit in first class than you are classless and shall be treated as such.
No. They are more like waitresses. It is their job to make sure that their customers are comfortable and have everything that they need to have as an enjoyable time as possible. :-)
some are, others find a way to be happy inside and then it really shows
I believe it takes a special person to be a flight attendant. Someone who can deal with all different kinds of people and personalities. It's like being a customer service rep only they are doing their job at 30,000 feet. I feel their smiles are real. :-)
There's some pretty crabby clowns running around then. :-)
The thought crossed my mind once or twice. Especially with a older male flight attendant. He seemed very tired but I appreciated his professionalism - he did his job well.
Oddly, yes.

Not sure about the inside but the outside is so smiley it's kind of terrifying.

All teh flight attendants i have ever met were sad people
I don't think they are any different from the rest of the world. Their job requires them to smile.
If I say "travel", you say?
