Help answer this question below.
i say just go with an ipod shuffle he is only 8 he doesnt need that much music and a shuffle can hold a good amount of music i have had one
Normally I would get the lower end model for an eight year old. Today's youth are somewhat more proficient than when I was eight. Things like that weren't invented yet. So, Today I would buy him one of the iPods that have video, in a mid-range capacity. I don't remember what they're called, an iPod touch I believe, with a 120GB storage capacity. Sorry to not have been more help. Frankly, I'm too old to be carrying one of those around.
I would buy him the cheapest ipod nano. They are expensive and 8 year olds are not the most responsible
I POD classic has 120 GB, and the new ones have 180 GB. That's a lot of memory, and only be of any use if the child is going to be downloding thousands of songs and "A Lot!" of videos and games.
A Nano 16 GB will give your son the video, games and music capabilities, and its not very expensive. It's handier and sturdier than the IPOD touch for a child his age.
Depends. How much music does he have and how much do you want to spend? Does he just want it for music or applications and video as well? Also how hold is he? Will he be responsible with it?

I concur.
.
Our kids got the iPod Shuffle for Christmas anot too long ago. Currently, they are 11, 10, and 8 years of age. It's perfect for them and if they lose or damage them, it's nowhere near the cost of the other models. (You MUST think of this with kids this age!)
