Because you have some sadist tendencies. The more important question is does your wife enjoy the pain? If you have talked about it and she likes it then that is OK for both of you. If she does not like it and is not happy with it (see other questions where many people have said they neither like nor dislike but will do it because therie partner really likes it) then you need to find a less painful method or stop.
