  • Ask it.
  • I assume you are referring to a ficus fig tree. They are notorious for losing their leaves if you simply just move them across the room. Using your fingernail, scrape a small area of the trunk. If you see green, it's alive. If not, try snapping a limb. If the limb is nimble and doesn't snap, the tree is still alive. If it does snap off, it's probably dead. I would still give it 3 or 4 weeks before giving up. Water it, and keep it out of direct sunlight. And don't move it!!!
  • Do you mean a fig tree with figs on it or a ficus tree as in houseplant? Because at some times of the year a fig tree will look rather dormant near the ends of it's branches. If you snap a piece off and see only brown and dry in the center of the branch, then that part is dead. Keep breaking until you see green or fresh, moist wood. That's the living part. If you are referring to Ficus, they do lose their leaves and aren't too keen on growing them back whee they have gotten naked. Does your tree have any leaves left or is it completely leafless? If it has no leaves, that isn't good:-(
  • if it has no leaves and doesnt grow for like... id say a year... its probly ded.
