Question

Why, when you take the time to answer a question, there is no response. I would think those who run the site would make it clear that it is rude to ask but not answer.

    His Lordship... has left

There are many reasons people don't answer. They could have left the site. There could be a lot of answers and yours was overlooked. They may have felt an answer might be provoking and rather then do that they let it alone if it was something controversial. I know I have inadvertently missed some answers because you don't always get notification of them in your feedback. I think All answers and comments should be in your feedback. That might solve a lot of the problem.

    redcatt63 is around here somewhere......

Unfortunately, there are some folks who post Q&A simply to gain points and don't care at all about social interaction or manners. My question is, why even bother with a site like this just because you want points?
    .
Edit- And, as a few others have pointed out, sometimes there are those glitches that prevent us from being notified we have new answers. I do always try to go through all of mine and make sure I've responded, but occasionally, I do miss some!

Bazza, unfortunately AB has many glitches. One of those glitches is that it doesn't always notify us when we HAVE an answer to our question. Many times I've had to go back through my questions just to see if someone had answered it and I find a LOT of questions that I have not yet responded to. I am one of those people who does not ask a lot of questions, I like to answer more than ask, so it's easier for me to go back. But if a person asks a lot of questions it is sometimes almost impossible for them to find every single answer that they haven't been notified of. We do try though, honest Bazza. :^)

There are a lot of people that just stop in for one or two questions and you never see them again, I guess they aren't really here long enough to learn, or care for that matter, about Ab etiquette.

Sometimes answers can also be overlooked purely by accident, I went through all of my questions the other day and found quite a few I didn't notice. Although there are a few people who just don't care. Fortunatly, those people are the minority. +4
