I've taught adults a few things like horse riding, sewing, cooking, and others.

- I use to be very patient but I trained too many young college students in ABA. They work with my Son for a couple of months and than they are gone. I rather do it myself.
  I worked in Provider Relations(Public Relations) for Years. I trained Providers and most of the staff. I never lost my temper. These days I simply can not tolerate people that assume they know it all. They are impossible to teach. If you pay attention you can learn almost anything.
  I give you a lot of correct. I always say Teaching is a gift. Training someone to Teach others only works if the person really cares about others.
  Working with Autistic people is very difficult you have to use ABA. You have to understand that they perceive things defiantly.
  My friend Bobbie works in the UK with Autistic Children. We chat on autismnetwork. Her Son is Aspergers. I am sure she is awesome. She has a heart of gold. She tries to help others.

- Oooh I see..yes I too work with adults who have Aspergers and other learning disabilities..they are taught low level Maths and English and although some do struggle they are trying their best..and a lot more than many younger students..To be honest I prefer working with Adults because they want to learn..last year I taught a man in his late 70's to read..by the end of the year he had read 13 books..makes my job worthwhile :D

  My Son has great Teachers but at home it is just me. The kids don't last. The Professionals want $100 Dollars an hour.

- Yes so do I..there are so many people in life who profess to be good people when infact all they care about is themselves..one thing my jobs have taught me..is to recognize certain personalities and characteristics of people..
  Thank god there are good people like yourself thats all I can say..

I have as part of my job history....I have been a library volunteer teaching illiterate adults to read. It is possible to succeed at it, esp if the adult is motivated.

You can try, but if they aren't willing to attend class they won't learn the lesson. I can't imagine getting to the point in my life where I thought I had nothing new to learn. How boring that would be.
